MATCH PREVIEW
The Gunners have begun the campaign in blistering form, winning eight of their opening 10 top flight matches, including a
2-0 victory over Liverpool which opened up a five-point lead at the top of the standings.
Arsene Wenger's men also came through their most recent European examination with flying colours, beating Borussia Dortmund 1-0 in the Champions League to become the first ever English side to win at the Westfalenstadion.
The north London giants will now come up against it once more when they face the defending champions in their own backyard, although the Red Devils' form
has been anything but consistent this season under new manager David Moyes.
Just five wins from their opening 10
league matches has left United already eight points behind Arsenal, while they have also conceded more goals than any
side in the top eight and face the second most prolific attack in Wenger's men.
A goalless outing against Real Sociedad in the European Cup on Tuesday also did little to boost morale in the red half of Manchester, although the result was still enough to keep United one point clear at the top of Group A with two games remaining.
The stalemate also made it eight matches without defeat in all competitions for the champions, having won five and drawn
three in an indication their early season wobbles are beginning to level out.
ROBIN VAN PERSIE
In team news, Robin van Persie is once again set to dominate the headlines, with the former Arsenal captain having scored in both fixtures last term, the first in the
2-1 success for United at Old Trafford before then netting the equaliser in the 1-1 draw at the Emirates.
The Dutchman is also currently the Red Devils' top scorer this term with six goals in the Premier League , although he lacked his usual clinical finishing in midweek, missing a penalty.
UNITED INJURY DOUBTS
Meanwhile, Tom Cleverley is expected to come back in, having been substituted during last weekend's win at Fulham with
double vision, while Michael Carrick has overcome an Achilles problem. Danny Welbeck, though, remains out with injury .
AARON RAMSEY
Arsenal, meanwhile, will again look to man of the moment Aaron Ramsey for inspiration up front, with the Welshman's winner against Dortmund taking his tally
to 11 goals in all competitions for the season, including six in the top flight.
GUNNERS INJURY DOUBT
Jack Wilshere, though, is expected to miss out as he continues to recover from an ankle injury, although a big boost for the
Gunners could see Theo Walcott make his return from almost two months out with abdominal issues.
