Liverpool targets sweedish star.
The 27-year-old is out of contract at
the end of the season at the Dutch
club and Brendan Rodgers is keen to
pay a small fee to take the Swedish
player who can play both in midfield
and in the forward line on loan for the
rest of the season.
Defender Mamadou Sakho is settling
into life well at Liverpool reports the
Liverpool Echo, and was pleased to
score his first goal for the club in the
4-1 win over West Ham last weekend.
Sakho said: 'I really like Liverpool as a
city and I like the people.
It's difficult
for me to understand when the
Scousers talk to me because they
speak so quickly… but in time it will be
fine.
'It was great for my own personal
achievement to score. But really the
most important thing was that
Liverpool won the game.
I'll always do
the best I can for the team to help us
get good results.'
Ahead of Liverpool's clash with
Tottenham at White Hart Lane on
Sunday, Philippe Coutinho has come
in for some credit for the opposition
with Sandro telling the Daily Mirror
that the young Brazilian is like
Ronaldinho.
He said: 'With the ball, Coutinho's
passes are like Ronaldinho's. His
passes are good, man. He does move
a lot. But his passing! You think he is
going to pass here and he passes
there instead.
'He does the same as Ronaldinho. You
think he's going to do one thing, and
he does something completely
different. He changes.
Ronaldinho
was the best player, but I think their
style is similar.
'Suarez is a great footballer and in a
great spell of form. He has scored a
lot of goals but we are going to push
to hold him and stop him.
'But it is not just him. When Coutinho
plays he has a good pass on him and
he is an intelligent guy.'
