It was a tale of two not-to-be penalties at Goodison Park as both sides will feel they should have been given spot-kicks.
Spurs started the game stronger and Sandro forced Tim Howard into a smart save with five minutes gone before Roberto Soldado missed a great chance, heading an Aaron Lennon cross wide when he should have done better.
Kyle Walker also brought the best out of Howard with a blasted free-kick before Spurs will feel they should have had a penalty on 22 minutes. Jan Vertonghen got into the area and Seamus Coleman
put in a clumsy challenge to bring him down, but the referee waved play on.
Everton started to come back into the game and Vlad Chichires did brilliantly to stop Kevin Mirallas as he burst into the area following a swift counter attack. Then followed a huge Everton penalty shout on 67 minutes as Coleman was
caught by Vertonghen from behind.
Coleman tried to stay on his feet as the home players and fans screamed for a penalty, but he did appear to get clipped by the Spurs man.
Romelu Lukaku went close to putting Everton ahead on 71 minutes and six minutes later was then involved in a sickening collision with Hugo Lloris when
chasing down a Gareth Barry long ball.
The game was held up for a long time asthe Spurs keeper had treatment but, after appearing in some doubt, the Frenchman stayed on to finish out the game.
In the closing moments Lloris was forced to deny Gerard Deulofeu before Spurs came close to a winner in the nine minutes of injury time, as Christian
Eriksen, Soldado and Andros Townsend all had decent attempts on the Everton goal.
Both teams had to share the spoils in a goalless draw at Goodison park
,however they both sit in comfortable positions on the epl table.
