New boss Aitor Karanka has moved to sign the former Republic of Ireland international on a temporary basis after Jason Steele was handed a three-match
ban following his red card against Leeds
United last weekend.
Given has found himself out of favour
at Villa Park in recent months, having
fallen behind Brad Guzan in the
goalkeeping pecking order.
He will hope to get some regular first-
team football under his belt at the
Riverside Stadium, and could make his
debut against Bolton Wanderers this
weekend.
