DZEKO WANTS TROPHY AFTER NEWCASTLE DISPATCH

The Citizens were pushed all the way to extra-time by Newcastle this week after 90 minutes at St James' Park finished goalless, although Manuel Pellegrini's men eventually broke through as Dzeko first set up Alvaro Negredo for the opener
before scoring the second himself.
City have since been drawn away to
Championship outfit Leicester City in the quarter-finals, and despite the League Cup being low down on the side's priority list, Dzeko insists they will be out to lift the trophy early next year.

He said: "There's still three more games to the final but we definitely want to go there - that's our target." Looking back over this week's clash, Dzeko added: "Tonight (Wednesday) was a chance for those of us who maybe
haven't played in the last few games to show the manager we deserve to play.

"We have to show it on the pitch and I think we did that tonight."
