OZIL APOLOGISES TO ARSENAL FANS ON FACEBOOK

Mesut Ozil has issued an apology to
Arsenal fans after he decided not to join the team in applauding the travelling support following the 6-3 loss at Manchester City.

The club's 42.5 million record signing was given a ticking-off by fellow German Per Mertesacker at the final whistle, and Ozil this evening took to his Facebook page to say sorry to the fans.

He posted:"Sorry I didn't thank the
fans at the end of the game!
"You have been brilliant to me and I know you had travelled a long way and spent your money to support us. I was upset with the result and know I should have come to you to say 'thank you' and
I know it is a big Arsenal tradition win, lose or draw."

Arsenal's heavy loss at City saw their lead at the top of the Premier League cut to two points after Chelsea beat Crystal Palace.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger also saw defender Laurent Koscielny suffer a knee injury at the Etihad, while Jack Wilshere could face action from the Football Association after he apparently
made a crude gesture at City fans.
