Manchester United assistant manager steve round has suggested that young sensation Adnan januzaj could be a long-term replacement to Wayne
Rooney and Robin van Persie.
Round was speculating on what Januzaj’s best position was following Tuesday night’s 4-0 League Cup victory over Norwich City and reveals that reserve coach Warren Joyce believes that the 18- year-old is best suited in the No.9
position.
Januzaj played in that position for the reserves last season and his performances earned the praise of former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who pointed him out as one of the brightest talents in the country before including him in his final matchday squad at West Brom.
“Adnan has gone from strength to
strength,” Round said. “We see him as a No.7, 10 or 11. He can play any of those three.
“And if you ask our reserves coach, who had him last season, he’d say he felt his best position was no.9. He played there for the reserves.”
